Nigerian Conceptual Photographer G.V. Utong

Godswill Vesta Utong, popularly known as G. V. Utong, is a a banker, photographer and digital artist from Nigeria. Fascinated by the concept of loneliness, sadness and explores artistic themes that bring to the fore the fickleness of the human experience.

My works usually explore themes relating to sadness, loneliness and the fickleness of the human experience. I draw inspiration from Surrealist painters and photographers,, chief among them being the Polish painter, Zdzisław Beksiński.

I started photography in 2017 as a way of escaping the boredom of my day job and realised it was therapeutic. I take pictures over the weekend, then spend nights after work editing them.
