Sayuki Mtindiko (b. Ndana, Tanzania) immersed himself into art early in High School quitting Secondary school in order to pursue his work. He begun his career in 1981 until his death in 2011. Sayuki was heavily influenced by the Tinga Tinga movement in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania specifically by the Mashetani style created by prolific Tanzania artist George Lilanga. The Mashentani style incorporates a wide range of color along with fantastical characters that depict mythological East African creatures.
