A network of elephant trails bisects the green grasses of Lake Amboseli, at the center of Amboseli National Park. The elephants migrate from the dry surrounding plains almost daily in the dry season to drink and graze. A worldwide ban on the ivory trade has allowed Kenya's elephant population to rebound.

Steinmetz’s dedication for this artform is shown through his willingness to fly in a motorized paraglider over huge stretches of earth. Steinmetz is a self taught photographer and has traveled over 30 countries in Africa. His equipment consists of his aircraft powered by a backpack motor and paraglider style wing.
