Animals / Izalwanyana

image

Animals / Izalwanyana is an illustrated children’s book by illustrator and designer Xanele.

“The need to design this book arose from my time spent in township creches. Time taught me that 99% of township creches do not have access to relevant children / educational books. Most of the creches I worked teach children between the ages of O – 6 years of age whose mother tongue is Xhosa and their second language English. “Animals” is the first book in a series of three. See-Saw-Do (the company name under which we distribute these books) recently got 1 000 copies of this book printed and we have enough to supply an entire township (over 27 creches) with books. We hope to continue designing and illustrating a variety of different books and distributing them to children in need. “
