Reginald Emvula

Born and bred in Namibia, Reginald Emvula begun his passion for motion graphics  in high school while he was sketching and learning about fine art and animation. Influenced by video games, anime, and manga, his interests led him to study animation and special effects in the UK. The combination of his technical skills and African influence produced these wonderful creative videos. Enjoy.

“A short animation for my motion graphics module – the topic was contrasts. i chose a contrast between 2D and 3D space, engaging this through dynamic movement across a vibrant background.
all the images were created in Photoshop then animated in after effects.”

“AN EPIC JOURNEY FOLLOWING 2 MYTHICAL BEASTS AS THEY TAKE DOWN FLYING COLOSSUS FROM THE SKY!
As part of my final year project, based on group members concept art, I used 3DS Max to Model and Rigg the characters, MotionBuilder for character animation (all keyframed), Mental Ray for the daylight system and renderring, and After Effects and Motion for Editing and SFX. (Pro Tools for the soundtrack)”

“Based on my childhood memory’s of trips home from church, warped by my imagination. Set in Ovamboland, Namibia, drawn and animated in Photoshop and Quicktime Pro”
